Free Creatures & Siren and Seer

The Pacific Northwest brings us yet another new musical flavor to the alt hip-hop indie fusion scene, Free Creatures. The trio features emcee & producer Marv Ellis remixing original beats on an MPC live while rapping and freestyling in his beloved and charismatic style. Marv is joined by the smooth, sweet, feminine swagger of upright bassist and singer Emily Turner, and the riveting soul effects of intentional riffs and mind-bending solos from electric guitar wizard Skyler Squglio.

Free Creatures presents a highly sensational and easily digestible musical flavor, an Umami music that brings many cherished styles together in a fresh, fun way. Oregon born emcee/producer Marv Ellis brings the foundation with his West Coast indie-style hip hop beats remixed live on-stage on an MPC, coupled with his uniquely Northwest flavor of Rhythmic American Poetry and songwriting. In this project, Marv is joined by multi instrumentalist Emily Turner’s siren-like vocals, thoughtful lyrics, driving upright bass, and spunky trumpet solos, and by Skyler Squglio’s wizardly approach to upside down, left handed electric guitar.

Siren and Seer is the new vision of producer/multi-instrumentalist saQi and vocalist/songwriter Diamonde. Hailing from the hills of Northern California, the duo gives a fresh take on live electronic music by merging traditional idioms of Americana, folk, gypsy and blues with cutting edge dance music genres.
S&S tastefully reimagine sounds of the past for a modern context and create a multi-dimensional world where refinement of a Victorian era can co-exist with roots of Appalachia and rawness of the urban underground. A major goal of the project is to bring a realness and vulnerability to the dance floor while still bringing sound that is hot and heavy. Dust off your brimmed hat and get ready to boogie.
